The Cars

One of the cool parts of the Cacklefest show is the pre-fire up parade where the fans get to see the cars and crews up close and personal while getting a verbal history of the cars. This is also a fun deal for the folks participating in the event.

Like the CHRR at Bakersfield in October, this event draws more quality cacklecars each year. Not nearly as many, but really nice iron. This year was no exception with four notable debuts.

First out are the push start cars as they go to the top end of the track. Following them are the static start cars that are positioned on the guardwall in the starting line area. Meet the 2015 NHRR Cacklefest participants.

We present them to you in the order they were presented to the fans. And if you tell yourself there are too many photos, Cacklefest.com is here to recognize in a small way those who come to this event from all over. This is where they can see the fruits of their labor.

First out were the push start cars that proceeded to the top end of the track to suit up and prepare for the call to push down.

Bob Frey did the driver/car introductions.

First out was the newer of two competing Gordon "Collecting" Collett cars with his son, Terry driving. The older car was a self-starter.

Cacklefest regular Marty Harrison in his Hundley & Boggs AA/FD.

Gary "Mr C" Cochran's restored RED with Don Nosse in the seat.

E.J. Horton in the purple "Brazil & Brower" AA/FD.

Comanche AA/FD owned and driven by Paul Broughton.

With daughter Gretchen's retirement, the Perrenot Family "The Gizzle Hopper" Lincoln powered AA/C had owner, Brian Perrenot back in the seat.

Bill Crosby was back in his Bobby Langley "Scorpion V" recreation.

The Jenkins, T-Bar & Cortines late model powered AA/FD owned and driven by Bob Gibson. The original timing on the car was really bad. As we all know, Garlits came out with his first RED in early 1971, this was not even in the jig yet. By the time it was ready to run there was no doubt that front engine cars had a short shelf life. Even the big wing could not keep this car competitive. It was the last T-Bar FED ever made.

Don Moore in "Hunt Family" AA/FD.

Dave West made the trip from Texas with his beautiful Beebe & Mulligan recreation.

Austin Myers in Dave Huber's Chevrolet powered Dragmaster car.

Making its Cacklefest debut, the 1965 Ramchargers car with Michael Hilton driving. This was the first dragster to run a late model hemi on fuel.

Mike Whitney in the "Indecision" AA Fuel Altered.

Jim Walther back in the seat of the "Special Edition" fueler that he drove in the late '60s. It was restored by its owner, Lawrence "Penny" Flammia.

Keith Burgan was in the seat of Geri Tarvin's Nitro Therapy.

Ken Fox in "Fox & Hulls" fueler, another Cacklefest regular.

Cacklefest vet Ron Nichols in "Cox & Amos" car.

John Dearmore's beautiful SPE car with Bob "Floyd Lippecott" Muravez driving.

More Aggravation AA/C restored and owned and driven by Al Bergler.

Donnie Anderson in Jack Chisenhall's "Don Rightsell's Texas Longhorn".

Original driver, Chip Woodall in the Peebles & Williams car our of Texas.

Another car making its debut was the legendary "The Prussian" of Steffey & Rupp. This is another Al Bergler beauty. Norm Sudgen driving.

Don Bowman in his car that was restored by Brendan Murry.

The most famous Top Gas dragster in history, John Peter's "Freight Train" with original driver Goob Tuller in the seat. Peters made the long tow from California for this event.

Yet another debut was the stunning Jimmy Nix car with Bennie Osborn in the seat. Osborn and the late Nix were close friends.

Don Ross in the other Bobby Langley "Scorpion" that he restored.

There was no list of who were in these cars.
